Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 19.3.2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Daigosoft Unipessoal Lda. ("we," "us," or "Daigosoft") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website and software products, including Daigo Notebook, Daigo Writer, and Daigo Projects. We are committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
Daigosoft, a/c Dr. E. H. Rast
Rua Professor Lima Basto 109, 3 ESQ
1070-212 Lisboa, Portugal
Contact Email: privacy@daigosoft.com
2. What Data We Collect and Why
Daigosoft only stores user information that is needed for the operation and functionality of the website and software. We process this data based on the necessity to fulfill our contract with you or our legitimate business interests to keep our services running smoothly.
- Account and Subscription Data: This includes your full customer name (as provided by our Merchant of Record, Hotmart), customer email, Daigo user ID, access keys for purchased products, product types, and subscription duration.
- Payment Information: Hotmart acts as our Merchant of Record and the official reseller of our software. When you make a purchase, your billing relationship is directly with Hotmart, and they act as an independent Data Controller for your financial data. They securely process and store your payment details (such as credit cards and billing addresses) under their own privacy policies. We do not collect, process, or store your full financial details on our servers; we only receive the account and subscription data necessary to grant you access to the software.
- Metadata: To facilitate the synchronization process between your devices, our servers store metadata about your uploaded files. This includes file names, version history, last upload times, and the link to the Daigo account of the uploader.
3. End-to-End Encryption
Daigosoft uses strong end-to-end encryption for private user data. Data that you do not intend to share with others, such as your notes and files in Daigo Notebook, is end-to-end encrypted locally on your device using a user-chosen password before being uploaded to our servers for syncing. While Daigosoft can read the metadata (as described above) to make the sync process work, the actual content of your uploaded data is encrypted and not readable in cleartext by Daigosoft. Please refer to our manuals for detailed descriptions of the encryption methods used.
4. User-Administered Encrypted Workspaces
Certain products, such as Daigo Projects, allow paying users to create and administer restricted communication spaces (like chats and messaging tools) and invite other users. Communications within these specific spaces are end-to-end encrypted.
The Role and Obligations of the Administrator: Because these spaces are end-to-end encrypted, Daigosoft cannot read, monitor, or moderate the message contents or attachments. The paying user who creates the space acts as the administrator and is equipped with the tools to remove content and ban users. Legally, the administrator assumes the responsibility for managing the space and the data shared within it. Administrators are obligated to use these tools responsibly and to handle the data of invited users in compliance with applicable laws. If you participate in these spaces, please be aware that the administrator controls the environment and the data shared within it.
What We Can Access: To facilitate the routing of these communications, Daigosoft only accesses and processes necessary metadata, such as chat forum titles, space types, and the user accounts participating. We strictly do not have access to the encrypted payload (the messages themselves).
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
Daigosoft does not sell or give away your private information to third parties for advertising or marketing. We only share necessary data with trusted third-party service providers (such as EU-based cloud hosting providers) and our Merchant of Record, Hotmart, strictly for the purposes of facilitating your purchases, maintaining your subscription, and operating our services.
All of our operational servers and databases are hosted by secure cloud infrastructure providers located strictly within the European Union. We do not transfer your personal data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of our website and services (such as keeping you logged into your account).
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your account information, metadata, and encrypted files from our active servers within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain certain billing records for tax and accounting purposes.
8. Your GDPR Rights
Under the GDPR, you are entirely in control of your data and have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request that we delete your personal data (including public chat data and account details), subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format to transfer to another service.
- Right to Object: Object to our processing of your data based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@daigosoft.com. If you are an EU resident, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe we are violating your rights.
